Internship Description

As an intern at the Marin Abused Women’s Services I learned a lot of new skills that I know in the future will really be useful. The job that I was given was as a “Administrative Supporter" This job includes a lot of computer and paper work. I was given a lot of projects to work on to support their goal of decreasing domestic violence in Marin.
In this job I worked in the Development department with Jill Madison who is the manager of Development Public Relations and also with Courtney Kent, the assistant of Development Public Relations as well. I helped them with all their projects but mostly the project of ending domestic violence in 5 years in Marin. I was given my own work area and this really was something that made me feel like I was a part of their staff, and which made me more responsible and confident.
I did overall a lot of re search, data entry, fund raising and help with the task of the 5 Year Plan program.

Projects such as;

  • Merchants for MAWS
  • Inventory of Donations
  • MAWS Scrapbook
  • Data base update for donations
  • helping set up online store
  • filing
